DONNA ABBOTT

President

PERSONAL STATEMENT

I love this community and plan to retire in Lake Bonanza. I am grieved by the condition of our amenities and the lawlessness of the current board.

I strongly desire to see our amenities restored, maintained, beautified, and improved. I am willing to put in the volunteer time to make it happen. I am divorced with three adult children and three grandchildren. I strive to live my life as God instructed. I will do my best to ensure board actions are in the best interest of Lake Bonanza.

QUALIFICATIONS

An extensive business management background has well prepared me for serving on the LBPOA board. I previously served as Treasurer on the Wildwood HOA Board of Directors in Houston, Texas from 2006-2008. I have studied our bylaws and founding documents extensively over the past year and believe I have a solid understanding of them. I have also studied the Texas Property Code and other applicable laws pertaining to POA's and have a solid understanding of those as well.

BUSINESS & OVERNMENT EXPERIENCE

As the Global Travel & Event Manager for several energy industry companies (including Landmark Graphics, Halliburton, Unocal and Chevron) from 1995 – 2009, I managed the bid process for supplier negotiations with travel agencies, event venues, airlines, hotels, and credit card suppliers. In the process of establishing a new travel department I wrote and enforced employee travel policies, developed and managed department budgets and reporting. I planned and managed major corporate events, including budget development and oversight, for up to 1000 employees for training events, investor conferences, incentive trips and recruiting events. I also managed department staff and event volunteers. My experience as a Certified Legal Assistant for the real estate section of an energy service law department from 1990-1995 enabled me to understand the importance of correct interpretation of a legal document. A little over four years ago I became a Registered Nurse and work 3 days a week at a nearby hospital. Time management and critical thinking are essential skills for a nurse. Patient care is by far the most challenging career I have ever had, but the most rewarding as well.
